Fishing Notes

Hybrids, stripers, and white bass:

Fish are moving up the Oconee river channel starting at Crooked Creek marina and going to the dam. Fish are congregating at the bends of the river and anywhere from 12-20 feet of water.

Look for busting fish for reference but focus on your electronics. Look for arcs in the water column which signifies moving and feeding fish. Fish will be from the surface to the bottom.

Lures:

3/8 oz Queens Tackle ball heads rigged with 3” prodigy baits by Cast Fishing

3/8 oz Spot Choker underspins with Keitech swim baits or Zoom Flukes

¼ or 3/8 oz Pulse Jighead with a Zoom Fluke or Suicide Shad body

Use 3500 or 35 series spinning reels and medium action rods to get the most out of these fish. I am running 20lb Power Pro Super Slick to a 20lb Sunline flouro leader.

Happy Trails!

James
